Islamic Religious Education Study Program of FITK UIN Malang Holds Guest Lecture to Discuss Teachers in the Era of Society 5.0

PAI FITK UIN Malang – Happiness shines on the faces of PAI students after they defend their writings in front of the examination board and declare their graduation. At the end of the even semester of the academic year 2023/2024, precisely this month, 74 PAI students took the thesis examination conducted in Building A, Room A.101 – A.107 for two days (27-28/06/2024).

The resource person presented at this Guest Lecturer was Dr. Saiful Amien, M.Pd, an expert in learning technology from the Faculty of Islamic Education University of Muhammadiyah Malang. The resource started the presentation by discussing the benefits and problems of technology. “Technology gives birth to products that facilitate problems in life, including students who use it most often,” said Saiful Amien, a lecturer at the Faculty of the Islamic Education University of Muhammadiyah Malang. 

Dr. Saiful Amien, M.Pd identified the challenges of Islamic Religious Education Teachers today, namely the digital divide, low digital literacy, changes in the role of teachers, digital distraction, large volumes of information, changes in social norms, and generation gaps. Prospective educators must be sensitive to these challenges.

To anticipate the challenges above, Saiful Amien offers the importance of utilizing technology in learning, developing 21st-century skills, increasing competence and digital literacy, being an inspirer and role model, and being creative about learning.

In his remarks, Dr. Muhammad Walid, MA, Vice Dean for Academic and Student Affairs expressed his appreciation for the PAI study program to show achievements that make the faculty proud. “I am sure that the Islamic Religious Education Program is on the track that produces external the Islamic Religious Education teachers who are aspiring in the community,” said Muhammad Walid. on the track that produces external the Islamic Religious Education teachers who are aspiring in the community,” said Muhammad Walid.

Vice Dean for Academic and Student Affairs also added information, Islamic Religious Education students must be sensitive to the Merdeka Belajar policy starting in the fifth semester, and students can take cross-study program courses in their universities outside. There are teaching assistant programs, internships, and other forms. Starting this year, FITK students began to write final assignments in the form of a thesis, scientific articles, and reference books.

Furthermore, he encouraged Islamic Religious Education students as agents of change to be prospective educators who are productive in preparing the golden generation. Prepare yourself to be a qualified, dignified, and integrated person in carrying out a noble mission in the field of education.

The Head of the Study Program also reported the achievement of the Islamic Religious Education Program for institutions and students. In the 2024 Association of Indonesian Islamic Religious Education Study Programs national deliberation event in Bengkulu, the PAI study program still holds the achievements of the best study program in the International Networking category.
